Water for the Poor Program
Maynilad and civil society groups work together to address water inaccessibility and poor sanitation in indigent communities within the West Zone concession. Under the pro-poor schemes Samahang Tubig Maynilad and Pag-asa sa Patubig Partnerships, residents and partners are empowered to manage their own community water systems.

After establishing a water cooperative in Tondo, Manila, the company organized women-leaders of the community into Kapwa, maker of hygiene and sanitation products. Its president, Lydia Codiñera, was named by Go Negosyo as one of 20 Inspiring Filipina Entrepreneurs in 2018.
Fisherfolk Cooperative
Maynilad partnered with the City Government of Bacoor, Cavite, to form the Mamamayan para sa Lambat at Dagat Multi-purpose Cooperative, which maintains a shellfish farm and a supplies store from seed capital provided by the company. The “Tahong Coop” also leads efforts to clean up Bacoor Bay.
